Daimler Truck Holding AG and
part of the commercial vans business of Sandown Motor Holdings (Pty) Ltd
The Tribunal has unconditionally approved the large merger wherein Daimler Truck Holding AG (“DT Holding AG”) intends to acquire part of the commercial vans business of Sandown Motor Holdings (“Sandown Motor”).
DT Holding AG is a German company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. DT Holding AG and its subsidiaries are active in the truck and bus business and focus on the manufacturing and sale of trucks and buses.
Sandown Motors markets and sells trucks and buses produced by the Daimler Truck Group. It is active in the retail sale of passenger cars and vans. The target business comprises the marketing and retailing of commercial vans and aftersales services.
Pick n Pay Retailers (Pty) Ltd and
Pick n Pay Douglasdale Family Supermarket & Liquor Store
The Tribunal has approved, without conditions, the proposed merger whereby Pick n Pay Retailers (Pty) Ltd (“PnP Retailers”) intends to acquire the business of Pick n Pay Douglasdale Family Supermarket & Liquor Store (“PnP Douglasdale”) as a going concern.
PnP Retailers is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pick n Pay Stores Limited (“Pick n Pay”). It operates supermarkets, in various formats, that focus on supplying fast-moving consumer goods including groceries, clothing, health and beauty goods, general merchandise and liquor.
PnP Douglasdale conducts its business as a supermarket and liquor franchise store. It offers goods and services that are identical to those offered by other Pick n Pay branded franchise and corporate supermarket stores.
