Merger Alert: K2025069797 (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd and the student housing immovable properties and rental enterprises trading under the name “My Space @”, represented by My Space Hostel (Pty) Ltd

The Competition Tribunal has unconditionally approved the proposed merger whereby K2025069797 (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd (“NewCo”) will acquire various student housing properties and rental enterprises (“the target properties”) from My Space Hostel (Pty) Ltd (“My Space”). Following the merger, NewCo will solely control and wholly own the target properties.

NewCo is wholly owned by Respublica Group (Pty) Ltd. Of particular relevance to the transaction is the acquiring group’s student accommodation property, Roscommon House, located in Claremont, in the Western Cape.

The target properties consist of residential rental units used for student accommodation in Stellenbosch, also in the Western Cape.
