The Competition Tribunal (“Tribunal”) has unconditionally approved the proposed merger whereby Growthpoint Student Accommodation Holdings (RF) Ltd (“GSAH”) intends to acquire the student accommodation property in Pretoria known as “Fountains View Development” (“target property”). Post-merger, GSAH will solely control the target property.

The Competition Tribunal (“Tribunal”) has unconditionally approved the proposed merger whereby Growthpoint Student Accommodation Holdings (RF) Ltd (“GSAH”) intends to acquire the student accommodation property in Pretoria known as “Fountains View Development” (“target property”). Post-merger, GSAH will solely control the target property.
The acquiring group (GSAH, Growthpoint, all the firms controlling it, and all the firms controlled by those firms) invests in a diversified portfolio of student accommodation, commercial, industrial and retail assets in South Africa. The acquiring group’s student accommodation activities in Gauteng (in particular, in Pretoria) are relevant to this merger.
The target property is a student accommodation property situated at 606 Thabo Sehume Street, Pretoria Central, known as “Fountains View Development”.
