The Tribunal has unconditionally approved the proposed merger wherein Masimo Ventures (Pty) Ltd (“Masimo”) and Mr Conrad Dana Kgwadi intend to acquire several residential properties used for student accommodation (“target properties”) controlled by CBD Residency 2 (Pty) Ltd (“CBD 2”) and CBD Residency (Pty) Ltd (“CBD”).
 
Masimo’s activities consist of providing residential and student accommodation in the Johannesburg CBD and Pretoria. Further, Masimo provides property management services at certain buildings. Relevant to the proposed transaction, Masimo owns properties close to the target properties, which are used for student accommodation and as general residential property.
